This month's calendar features a scenic image of the Fisgard Lighthouse at Ford Rodd Hill National Historic Site near Victoria, BC. Fisgard is the oldest lighthouse on the west coast of Canada. It was originally built to help guide ships through the mouth of Esquimalt harbour. It remains today as a National Historic Site operated by Parks Canada and is a popular tourist destination for visitors to Victoria.
This month's calendar features a Saguaro Cactus silhouetted against the sunset in Tonto National Forest in Arizona. We were on a horseback ride and our trail guide timed it perfectly for us to be on this ridge line to enjoy the sunset.
This month's calendar features a beautiful line of frost covered trees on a prairie farm field to the east of Calgary. It was one of those bright hazy days where you couldn't see much of the sky in front. But every once in awhile when you turn around you find something amazing! I got very lucky when I found this line of icy trees that the skies had cleared behind them and the cloud formations made the image far more dramatic than it would have been otherwise!
This month's calendar features an icy wintery landscape scene from the shores of the Bow River. It was an extremely cold day and a beautiful layer of ice fog blanketed the river. I saw the soft bumps of the rocks on the shoreline covered in snow and knew that I had to create this image for the calendar this month!
This month's calendar image comes from Castle Junction in Banff National Park in the late spring. It is a very moody image that includes Castle Mountain and the bridge across the Bow River at Castle Junction.
