This month's calendar features Cameron Falls in Waterton National Park. We recently made a day trip to Waterton and while there we hiked from the townsite to Crandell Lake. The Crandell Lake trail starts at Cameron Falls, which is a very beautiful spot... With all the rain we've had over the last couple of weeks the falls were flowing beautifully and made for some great pictures!
This month's calendar features a juvenile bald eagle feasting on the remains of a salmon during the salmon run from the Fraser River into Swift Creek near Valemount, BC. The creek was full of very large salmon that were building their spawning nests and preparing to lay their eggs. The abundance of fresh food attracted plenty of birds to the river, including 2 beautiful bald eagles that we saw repeatedly during our stay.
This month's calendar features a beautiful landscape scene from a recent horseback trail ride we went on in the Kananaskis region of the Alberta Rocky Mountains. This is a (mostly) annual trip that we've been doing with Anchor D Guiding and Outfitting for the last several years. The Anchor D ranch is adjacent to the Bluerock Wildland section of Kananaskis Provincial Park which is some amazingly beautiful country in the foothills of the Rockies!
This month's calendar features an adult mule deer buck with its antlers in full velvet in the forests of Yellowstone National Park. He was enjoying a snack on the side of the trail and other than a short glance in our direction he hardly bothered to notice that we were there.
This month's calendar features the delicate blossoms of a flowering apple tree in spring. All the flowering trees exploded into full bloom over the last couple of weeks and it was an amazing sight to see! The only sad part is that they only last a couple of weeks so it's really important to get out and enjoy them while they last...
