I was invited to attend a party that, although billed as a 60th Birthday Party, was as much a family reunion for the extended family as it was to celebrate the birthday. The family has always been extremely close and they barely need a reason to have a party. As a result it was a large group; somewhere around 50 people! It was a beautiful day at an old farm property in rural Ontario, which made for a beautiful backdrop for the party. Everyone had a great time catching up, eating great food, and playing games.
One special part of the day that I really enjoyed watching was when trees were planted in the names of all of the young children in the family. The trees were marked with the children’s names so that they can find them when they return to visit in the future. It was a really neat idea and I’m sure that everyone will remember it for a long time.
