Free Desktop Wallpaper for August 2010

This months desktop background wallpaper image comes from the Calgary Stampede! I love to watch the Fireworks and I try to get out to see the show at least once every year. I left it pretty late this year though and I only had one chance to get it right. The weather was so hit and miss all week that if it had turned out to be a stormy night I probably wouldn't have been able to make this image. As it turned out the weather was great and we had a beautiful western sky to use as a backdrop behind the Stampede Grandstand to light up the fireworks. The best place to see the Stampede Fireworks display is from Tom Campbell's Hill in the Ramsay community. My parents were in town visiting and they came with me to see the show. My dad also brought his camera along and we got to the top of the hill very early to stake out a great location to shoot from. It was a beautiful night and I hope you'll enjoy this image for your computer wallpaper this month! Free Desktop Wallpaper for July 2010

This months desktop background wallpaper image comes from a recent portrait shoot. Danielle came over with her violin and played several songs while I made images of her. It was lots of fun to capture the action while she played, and I really enjoyed getting in very close to make detail shots of her hands and the instrument itself. I hope you will enjoy this image as much as I do! Enjoy.

Free Desktop Wallpaper for June 2010

This months desktop background wallpaper image comes from the Calgary Zoo. I created this image while visiting the new conservatory. The conservatory has been totally rebuilt and is a wonderful place to visit. There are many different interesting plants, butterflies, and other insects all over the place and it is very easy to get up close to them to observe and to create beautiful images of them. Download To install the images as your desktop background, simply click on the link below depending on the file resolution you would like to use, then right-click on the larger image and select “Set as Desktop Background...”. Free Desktop Wallpaper for May 2010

As a little bonus offer to my friends and followers I have decided to start offering some free images for use as your computer wallpaper each month. Each beautiful image will be a picture I've recently created and will include a calendar overlay for that month. I know that I'm always looking for a calendar and having one on my desktop is very convenient! I made this image while wandering through downtown Calgary a couple of weeks ago and it shows off the beauty of the mirrored reflections of the setting sun on the side of one of the highrise buildings. I've been spending a lot of time downtown lately and I've been trying to take my camera with me as often as I can. I really haven't been down there very often prior to the last month so many of the sights and sounds were new for me. I'm constantly amazed by the hustle and bustle of the people around me, and in particular by the amount of construction going on. One good part of going downtown a lot is that I've found several great locations (both inside and out) that would be fantastic for quick portrait sessions! Download To install the images as your desktop background, simply click on the link below depending on the file resolution you would like to use, then right-click on the larger image and select “Set as Desktop Background...”. Enjoy.
