Calgary Studio Portrait Photography

This is another quick share to show an example image from a recent family portrait session that I did in my Calgary photography studio. I don’t use the high key white backdrop very often but when I do the results are always great. This family was lots of fun and they were ready whenever I suggested a new pose. I use this arrangement lots when I do outdoor family sessions but prior to this session I really hadn’t done it inside. It turned out so great that I will definitely be posing more families like this in the future.

Calgary Winter Family Portrait Sessions

I wanted to share a few images from a Christmas Card family portrait session I did with the Loyva Family in December. We met at the Highwood Golf Course in High River before their company Christmas social party. The club house at the golf course was beautifully decorated for Christmas and so we took advantage of that to make some great family portraits for their Christmas cards. We also went outside to do a few images in the beautiful soft winter light. Although these outdoor portraits are very wintery, they aren’t as seasonal as the Christmas themed photos and will be great for displaying in their home throughout the year.
Fall Family Photography at Edworthy Park

Fall at Edworthy Park
Edworthy Park is a wonderful location for Calgary Fall Portrait sessions. It’s a nicely sheltered park down in the river valley and the leaves all collect into huge piles that are fun to run, jump, and play in. There is plenty of color around and it’s really easy to get active kids and families in on the action. Everyone has a great time throwing leaves at each other which makes them happy enough to do a few great posed family portraits too.
Farkas Family Fall Portraits

We have had another beautiful fall season in Calgary and I was lucky to be able to spend it with a number of wonderful families in parks all over the city. One of my favorite things about being a portrait photographer in Calgary is that I get to see lots of great parks in all the seasons.
The image above was created at Confederation Park in the north west. The trees there always seem to hold their leaves far longer than the rest of the city and so it’s a great location for late fall photography sessions. See below for a beautiful slideshow with more images from this family.
