Halloween Spooktacular in Riverbend

If you'll be in the Riverbend area of Calgary on Halloween night, you should plan to drop by with your kids for "Pic or Treat" in the Garage of Horrors portrait studio. We'll have Halloween treats for all the kids and anyone wearing a costume will get one FREE digital image!! Children of all ages are welcome! Note that free drop-in sessions are first come, first served and will only be a few minutes per child (or family). If you want more time to get those precious pictures of your little ones all dressed up in their costumes, a limited number of 20 minute portrait sessions are also available during the day. Appointments can be booked from 1-4 PM on Sunday. Bookings are $49 and include (1) 8x10 or (2) 5x7 prints. Additional prints or digital images will be available for purchase at our special event rates from an online gallery after Halloween. Please call 403-615-3708 in advance to book your portrait session.

High Energy Portrait Session with Miss B

I had a great session with Miss B at Prince's Island Park. B is an amazing little girl who never stops moving. She has boundless energy and loves to run and play. It was all I could do to focus her energy in a direction that I could use. Actually getting her to stop moving was virtually impossible. It made for some really fantastic (and very spontaneous) images. Thanks to B for letting me intrude on her playtime! Client access to the password protected galleries from this session is now available in the client area.

Kieran’s 7th Birthday Party

When you mix a child's birthday party with some action sports you usually get one crazy group of people! How can you not get excited when you see kids having fun? I love to photograph sports and action and so this event was lots of fun to cover. I've actually been to Altadore Gymnastics club many times to watch and photograph my own children taking lessons, so I had a pretty good idea of some of the shots that I wanted to make. The kids didn't have to do anything fancy for me either, they just had to be themselves. I even got to have some of the ice cream cake afterwards! Congratulations to Kieran for turning another year older!

This months desktop background wallpaper image comes from a recent portrait shoot. Danielle came over with her violin and played several songs while I made images of her. It was lots of fun to capture the action while she played, and I really enjoyed getting in very close to make detail shots of her hands and the instrument itself.
