Chinook Outriders Motorcycle Club Photoshoot

Image Collage from a Photoshoot with the Chinook Outriders Recently I had the pleasure of being invited to create individual and group portraits for the members of a Calgary Women's Motorcycle Club. The Chinook Outriders are the Calgary chapter of the Women in the Wind. This group includes a bunch of beautiful and classy ladies and the photo shoot was incredibly fun. I would photograph an event like this again any time! Thanks to all the women that came out and put on their leathers and the other gear (including their wonderful attitudes!) required to help me make some really great portraits! All of the images have been uploaded to our Online Ordering System for Events. Enlargements and reprints can be ordered from that gallery for delivery directly to you. Digital copies of each image are also available for download. Images can be easily sorted and searched by rider name so you can quickly find the ones that are important to you. Please contact me if you need the password for the event site. Schedule a Portrait Session Schedule a Portrait Session

Girls Night Out! Calgary | The Women’s Information Network

A really great event called Girls Night Out! came to Calgary on Thursday night and I was very fortunate to be able to take part. "Girl's Night Out! is a fabulous, fun evening event where women learn, laugh, and connect with one another. These (free!) entertaining and educational events are sponsored by The Women’s Information Network (TheWINonline.com). The WIN is a community of women helping women, worldwide." The speakers were engaging and entertaining and the message was extremely powerful. I was asked to attend to photograph the event, both for posterity and to ensure that anyone in attendance who wanted a portrait made would have a chance. The latter part was somewhat difficult as the event was very popular and the room was full. I did manage to make a few great images, but more importantly I met lots of wonderful people and had lots of fun too! Thanks so much to everyone who attended and also to the organizers for allowing me to participate! Online Galleries All of the images from the event have been uploaded to the http://events.riverwoodphotography.com. Prints and Enlargements can be ordered from that gallery for delivery directly to you. Digital copies of each image are also available for download. the images have all been indexed into three categories to simplify your search: Candids, Portraits, and Speakers. Please feel free to contact me if you have any special requests or if there is a particular image you are looking for.

Carburn Sports Youth Soccer Pictures

I was honored to be able to take part in the Carburn Sports Youth Soccer program (U6, U8, and U10) picture day last Saturday. Thank you so much to everyone that came out to participate. Everything went extremely smoothly and we actually finished a little ahead of schedule. Everyone involved helped out to make it a very fun and straightforward process! If you were unable to attend on May 29th and you still want your child's picture taken, please give me a call at 403-615-3708 and we can arrange a suitable time and place to meet. All of the orders that were handed in on picture day have now been processed and the completed orders will be returned to the league for delivery to you as soon as possible. This will definitely be before league play finishes at the end of June, and likely much sooner. Online Ordering All of the images (including a selection of 1-4 additional poses for every player) have been uploaded to the Online Ordering System for Teams and Events. Enlargements and reprints can be ordered from that gallery for delivery directly to you. Digital copies of each image are also available for download. Note that memory mates, trader cards, and magazine covers are also still available; however, these orders must be completed manually. Please contact me directly to place order specialty items.

Calgary Real Light Workshop

I would like to announce an incredible workshop opportunity coming to Calgary this summer. I hope you will consider joining me for two days with fashion and editorial photographer Troy Moth as he passes through Calgary on a cross Canada road trip this summer. This will be a hands-on photography workshop where Troy will show us what he does in typical (real-life) assignment situations, using equipment that is available to all of us. We will all get a chance to interact with the models and to create images of our own. This is a fantastic opportunity that doesn't come along very often. Where: Calgary Chinese Cultural Community Center (downtown Calgary near Eau Claire Market) When: July 24-25, 2010 Cost: $350 Instructor: Troy Moth - http://www.TroyMoth.com The Real Light Workshop Website: http://www.reallightworkshop.com Online Registration: http://reallightcalgary.eventbrite.com/ About the Instructor: The Troy Moth was born in the deep woods of British Columbia. He was raised by a group of tree planters and spent the first few years of life sleeping in a tent. After a few seasons the Moth moved to a ranch next to the ocean. The Moth still prefers sleeping in a tent to a bed and he now feeds mostly on pomegranates and lychee. As the Moth grew older, he migrated across Canada to Toronto with only his beard for protection. The Moth can now be spotted across Canada and India with his camera. While traveling India the Moth has shot for editorial clients such as: Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Grazia, Rolling Stone, and GQ. The Moth has also been spotted in Applied Arts Magazine for best in fashion the last two seasons. About the Real Light Workshops: "The workshop starts with the foundation, a basic [...]
