We took a trip out on to the prairies east of Calgary today to create our own family portrait for this years Christmas Card. I didn’t have a firm idea in mind other than I wanted to do something on the prairie, maybe making use of a big bale of hay, an old barn, or a grain bin. Something like that anyway. So we drove around to see what we could find. It was a fun time and although the kids were pretty goofy we managed to get a few useable portraits. It’s much harder to photograph my own family than it is to do other families!

SO.MUCH.HARDER to photograph our own kids isn’t it! Love that you guys got out there & did it! (And love that you are still doing Simply Sundays! I need to get back on the wagon!)
Yes, especially when I’m trying to be in the photo! Normally they give me a good minute or two to do what I need, but today it was more like 30 seconds. I deleted a lot of really bad images. And kept just as many that were goofy. Great memories, but only useable with family!
And yes, I’m still doing the odd Simply Sunday post, but it certainly isn’t every week. I try to do a couple each month… Thanks for stopping by!
