It was my son Andrew’s fourth birthday this week and we had a party for him yesterday. One of the things the kids got to do at the party was to paint and decorate a picture frame. If you have kids you’ve probably seen this before… your child comes home from a party or event with a really nice picture frame and months (or years) later it’s still sitting there with no picture in it. Right?
We didn’t want that to happen, so all of the kids came out into my studio and I made portraits of all of them. Before they left I had a copy of the portrait printed out, cut to size, and ready to insert into the frame. So when they went home they had an original piece of artwork (their frame) and a framed picture ready to show off to their friends and family. It worked out really well, the kids had a blast, and the parents loved the pictures!
