I took my children down to see the memorial crosses that have been erected along Memorial Drive (in Calgary) in honour of all of the fallen soldiers with ties to Calgary. Over 1500 crosses were placed this year. While very sad, it is also really quite amazing and it was really nice to be able to take the kids there and to try to explain to them what it was all about.
Although I have no direct ties (that I know of) to Robert Phillips, it was interesting to find someone with whom we share a name. This was the only cross we could find for anyone named Phillips…
