Commercial Photography for a Rock Band Website
Every once in awhile an opportunity comes along that makes you stop everything and start planning. During the summer I was asked to work with local Calgary cover band “The Rough Cut” to create some images for their new website. The site was being built for them by CAYK Marketing who always build beautiful and innovative custom websites and marketing materials for their clients, and so I knew right away that this was going to be a great project. Creative people are always fun to work with, and musicians and rock bands are no exception!
I got a sneak preview at the mockup for the site and was able to visualize the look and feel of the images that they were going to want to use. The words Fun and Crazy jumped into my mind! It turned out to be all of that and more! All of the members of the band were great fun to work with and we were able to make lots of great images of each of the musicians, as well as a whole series of group images that included the entire band and smaller subgroups of 2 or 3 of the musicians. We also made sure to make images that included their instruments and other musical equipment.
