My Year in Review
I prepared the above video as part of a presentation that I did last week for some of the other local small businesses that I work with and I wanted to share it here as well. It is an animated slideshow that shows off some of my favorite photography from the last year. I did so many photography sessions all over Calgary last year and it was really hard to narrow it down to just a few images. I'm close to the end of my second full year as a full-time professional photographer and looking back at all the things I've done and the people I've met is nothing short of amazing. I love the work that I do and I'm so glad that I took the opportunity that life presented me with and ran with it. Thanks to all of you for supporting me and my business! I know I'm not really supposed to quote myself, but this is how I said it last year when I did my first "Year in Pictures" video, and I think it says it all perfectly: "Thank you to all of my clients and friends for allowing me to come into your lives, to participate and to observe. I will cherish every memory, and I look forward to working with all of you again soon!" REN Stampede Breakfast
This is an animated slideshow of photos and video created while doing some photography coverage of a Stampede Breakfast that I attended yesterday. The event was hosted by the Referral Exchange Network (REN**) in Calgary and was both a social event for the club members and a visitors day to try to introduce some new prospective members to the club. It was a really great event with lots of good food and beverages, some great musical entertainment, and plenty of laughs and conversations! Thanks to PM Gigs, Jones and Salt Insurance, and Apex Financial Consulting for sponsoring the event, and to the Groove Demonz for providing the tunes! **REN is a single profession business referral club that meets at lunch every Tuesday at the Carriage House Inn. The club is actively growing and always on the lookout for new members that have positive energy, are highly professional, and that are actively trying to grow their business. A Year in Pictures – Short Version
I was given the opportunity to do a short (5 minute) presentation about my business today at the Calgary Professional Business Owners & Managers Meetup Group that I attend regularly, and I decided to use a fusion video slideshow of images to show off some of my favorite work from the past year. Some of you may remember another video slideshow that I showed here a couple of months ago entitled "A Year in Pictures". I was very happy with that presentation but the slideshow itself was over 5 minutes long, and so I had to cut it down. I'm calling this the short version of "A Year in Pictures" because it includes many of the images that I used in the longer one, but the total length of the slideshow is now just under 2 minutes. Using this version for my presentation today allowed me to talk about my Calgary Photography business while also showing just enough images to give the group a good overview of the type of photography that I'm capable of creating and interested in doing.
Calgary Stampede Event Photography
I am starting to get calls and emails about photography coverage for events and parties during the upcoming Calgary Stampede. I am still available to take some of those jobs but the Stampede is coming very soon and it's definitely not too early to book! If you, your company, or your social club are planning a Stampede event this year and you need an Event Photographer to cover the event then please give me a call to discuss the coverage you need. I can provide you with a wide range of event photography coverage including candid photographs of the attendees, images of the food and other details for your website or blog, or I can even setup a photobooth at your party to create individual portraits of all the participants.
