Free Desktop Wallpaper for March 2018 – Prairie Winter Landscape

This month's calendar features a beautiful line of frost covered trees on a prairie farm field to the east of Calgary. It was one of those bright hazy days where you couldn't see much of the sky in front. But every once in awhile when you turn around you find something amazing! I got very lucky when I found this line of icy trees that the skies had cleared behind them and the cloud formations made the image far more dramatic than it would have been otherwise!

Free Desktop Wallpaper for February 2018 – Canada Geese in Flight

This month's calendar features a vee formation of Canada Geese flying over the Bow River in SE Calgary. It was a very bright and hazy day and the geese were almost lost in the haze and the light of the sun behind them.

Free Desktop Wallpaper for January 2018 – Snow Bumps on the Bow River

This month's calendar features an icy wintery landscape scene from the shores of the Bow River. It was an extremely cold day and a beautiful layer of ice fog blanketed the river. I saw the soft bumps of the rocks on the shoreline covered in snow and knew that I had to create this image for the calendar this month!

Free Desktop Wallpaper for December 2017 – Foothills Sunrise

This month's calendar features a landscape image from the foothills to the west of Calgary at sunrise. These old barns, grain bins, and other random farm equipment are widely spread throughout the prairies and I love to photograph them whenever I can! This is the best time of year to see the amazing sunrises and sunsets near Calgary since so many people are out and about at those times of the days in winter. Everyone should take the opportunity to go for a drive out on the prairies before or after work to see for themselves how beautiful this time of year is!

Free Desktop Wallpaper for November 2017 – Hiking to Rummel Lake

This month's calendar image features the a scene from the Spray Valley as seen from the Rummel Lake trail. We went for an early winter family hike on a beautiful fall day. The trail was icy at the start and the snow gradually got deeper all the way up the pass. There was a foot or more of snow at the lake and the lake itself was completely frozen over. Fortunately it was a beautiful blue sky day and we had a wonderful hike!
