Free Desktop Wallpaper for January 2019 – Bow River Ice Crystals

This month's calendar features an image from the Bow River in Calgary. It got very cold and very windy over the last few days and as a result some really cool ice crystals formed on the surface near the shore of the Bow River. It mostly looks like wind blown snow until you get really close and then you realize that it really is crystallized ice. The patterns in the ice are very interesting and they look amazingly different from different angles and depending on where the sun hits them!

Free Desktop Wallpaper for December 2018 – Railway Sunset

This month's calendar features an image from the prairies east of Calgary with the last light of the sun reflecting off the train tracks. I used to see sights like this on an almost daily basis in the winter while driving to or from work. How many times have you seen something like this and just kept going because you were too busy to stop? Sometimes you just need to slow down, take it all in, and enjoy the ride...

Free Desktop Wallpaper for November 2018 – Calgary Central Library

This month's calendar features the brand new Downtown Central Library (that just opened in Calgary after 4 years of construction) with an LRT train passing by as it comes out of the tunnel below the building. The building is visually stunning, both inside and out, and features some amazing architecture. It will be a fantastic place for Calgarians to visit and to show off to visitors and tourists that come to town. If you haven't had a chance to see it yet you really need to make plans to get down to the new library for a tour!

Free Desktop Wallpaper for October 2018 – Cameron Falls

This month's calendar features Cameron Falls in Waterton National Park. We recently made a day trip to Waterton and while there we hiked from the townsite to Crandell Lake. The Crandell Lake trail starts at Cameron Falls, which is a very beautiful spot... With all the rain we've had over the last couple of weeks the falls were flowing beautifully and made for some great pictures!

Free Desktop Wallpaper for September 2018 – Juvenile Bald Eagle

This month's calendar features a juvenile bald eagle feasting on the remains of a salmon during the salmon run from the Fraser River into Swift Creek near Valemount, BC. The creek was full of very large salmon that were building their spawning nests and preparing to lay their eggs. The abundance of fresh food attracted plenty of birds to the river, including 2 beautiful bald eagles that we saw repeatedly during our stay.
